Ryan Rhatigan has called Boulder County home for the last ten years. He's a residential contractor by trade, married, and running for the Colorado State House because he believes the people who fund this government deserve the same standard of accountability they expect from anyone else they hire.

Day to day, Ryan helps families build, fix, and improve the places they live. It's work that gives you a clear-eyed view of what accountability actually looks like — every dollar a homeowner spends is tracked, every milestone is inspected, and nobody gets paid for progress that hasn't happened yet. The principle is simple, and Ryan thinks it should apply just as plainly to projects funded by Colorado taxpayers.

That conviction is what's driving his run for House District 12. Too many public projects come in late, over budget, or simply unfinished — and the people footing the bill are the last ones to find out. Ryan is running on a platform of bringing real, contractor-style accountability to state spending, while pushing for policies that give Coloradans more control over their own education, energy, and resources.

Outside of work, Ryan supports community events through his brother's local sports leagues — coaching, volunteering, and showing up for the families that make Boulder County what it is. It's the kind of grassroots involvement that shaped his belief that the strongest communities are the ones that take care of their own, and that decisions about a community are best made by the people who live in it.

More on Ryan's story — including why he's choosing to run now and what he hopes to bring to the State House — is coming soon.
